STOP the Condemnation of Solberg Airport!
DID YOU KNOW THAT SOLBERG AIRPORT....
- is responsible for more than 200 jobs and nearly $10 million annually in economic benefits to the region;
- preserves open land at no cost to taxpayers as an alternative to the high level of over development in other areas of the township, county, and region;
- attracts smaller planes relieving airline congestion at Newark Airport.
Better regional and local planning can protect both the airport and our quality of life.

As a result of the change in the Readington Township Master Plan, members of PARTNERS @ Solberg will be on hand at the NJ Festival of Ballooning to collect signature petitions from area residents and festival attendees opposed to the airport condemnation.
The Readington Planning Board's change in the Readington Master Plan includes acquiring and operating the airport.
TAXPAYERS BEWARE that this plan includes options for: hiring an airport manager or firm, using township employees to maintain the property, runways, lighting systems and buildings, and hiring firms to run the flight school and aircraft repair and maintenance shop.
All of these options will cost Readington taxpayers through the loss of property tax revenue that the Solberg Family pays to the Township as well as legal fees, liability insurance and operating costs to run the airport. All this so Readington Township can acquire private property that is already open space and costing the Township nothing.
"We are opposed to the condemnation of Solberg Airport and will be collecting signature petitions from area residents and festival attendees who are also opposed to this unethical use of eminent domain", said PARTNERS Directors. If you are not planning to attend the Balloon Festival you can obtain a petition on their web site (www.partners-solberg.org) and fax it to PARTNERS @ Solberg at 908-534-4887 or 908-707-9255.
